Sovereign Equine is based near Lethbridge, Alberta. I breed Gypsy Vanners and Gypsy crosses! The crosses that are generally available are Gypsy x Andalusian, for a heavier dressage or pleasure prospect, and Gypsy Drums for a slightly larger version of this amazing breed! Each member of my herd has been deliberately selected for quality, temperament, versatility, and movement.  It is very important to me that my horses are not "just" breeding animals, they must also prove themselves under saddle.  To ensure this I also run a local lesson program where my mares and geldings all get to prove themselves under saddle. My mares are not bred year after year, but instead they are given years off where they are used in my lesson program.  I also have both mares and geldings that are used solely for riding as well.

My goal is to produce even tempered, loyal, trainable and athletic foals.  My foals are all handled regularly and will be trained to lead, tie, trailer and pick up hooves before they reach their new owners.  They will also be current on farrier and worming. I also believe that proper nutrition is absolutely paramount, and I work closely with my vet to ensure that the foals nutritional needs are met - both in utero and out! My foals have all shown very willing temperaments, they are loving, highly intelligent, extremely easy to train  and all around amazing horses! Once you own a Gypsy, Drum or Gypsy x Andalusian, many people never want to own anything else!

Riding Lessons

I offer lessons for local riders, where you have the opportunity to learn to ride or advance your skills on some of the most amazing horses possible!  My horses are incredibly smooth to ride, and well trained for beginners.  I have an excellent selection of horses so you have the opportunity to work with a horse that gets along with you!  English or western lessons are available geared towards beginners or low level intermediate riders wishing to further their experience.  My lesson program stays quite full, but if you are interested you are welcome to email me for more information and to see if there are any openings.
